#32.2025 – Find your hillside
Hi Folks – I have such a fabulous playlist for you this week.
Rachel Hill (podcast episode 2) had blown my socks off this week… This sensational new release showcasing her outstanding loop station skills is unparalleled. (we have her playing live in Suffolk at folkatthefox.co.uk in September too).
Dean Frost has caught my attention again this week with a great new release, Sinner, this had a superb guitar lick and is wonderfully crafted.
I am totally hooked on the vocals of Hannah Rooth and her collaborations with the Highly Sensitive Gays. This is a heat wrenching and desperately honest lament of epic proportions, sensitive and powerfully built on something solid. Give this song a double take, it is powerful medicine.
Bity Booker, is such a tender and magical soul, I love everything she does and if you get chance, why not listen to our chat on the podcast this week.
Welsh singer song-writer Molly Roberts is turning heads everywhere and I am so happy to include something new from her. Check out her back catalogue if you can, it’s brilliant.
Steven Colven’s latest release since his sensational “Dallas wintertime” album is a brilliantly relaxed yet pointy track which has a depth you can get lost in.
I also want to special mention song cycle you should listen to in full, George Linford, under the artistic name MARCH. Presents a luscious and lustrous soundscape called “Rhizomes of the the Winter Heliotrope” and while I have picked ‘Haze’ from this sensational album, you really need to hear it all in Context, glass of wine and good headphones needed.
My one to watch this week is Chris Reid – his new track Faraway Signs has a very familiar sound, lyrically brilliant and carefree, a decade of work culminates on a debut EP worth your attention.
I need help tracking down ‘Ljon‘ from Cologne , if anyone knows how to connect with them let me know please.
Lastly a special mention for Sunskip this week, Indigo Blue is perfect and the latest EP release, Smoke and Mirrors is outstanding. Have a great week… (looking for suggestions as always.)
