#01.2025 – In the beginning there was a list
I guess you need to start somewhere… So we built a list.
I was getting so tired with the algorithms filling my playlists with the same old stuff I hear all the time. it seems like they want to please you by playing the same songs all the time… Could you imagine if every time you saw a comedian they did the same jokes (in between the odd new one….) it would be unbearable… There are so many amazing musicians out there and so my plan this year is to run a single list, changing the tracks each week.
This week we wanted to start about as traditional as you can, still feeling slightly festive too, so we begin with snowflakes. The wonderful work of Gabriel Moreno has been in my ears all week too, if you like poetry and beautiful words this a great place to start. Gabriel says, “stubborn men hold onto their flags” and this week it seems like that might be the soundtrack for the year.
If you want to subscribe to our weekly list you can do so here….
This is the Week 1 list published on 30th December, 2024 and running until January 5, 2025.
This is the Week 2 list published on 6th January 2025 and running until 12th January , 2025.

Hi I am Andy, founder and editor of FolkMyLife. I am a lover of all things "Biddley Diddley" when it comes to music, I adore live music and I am especially interested in the stories behind the songs. It is the people, the history and the experience that add the gravity to a piece.
Feel free to contact me to share your music or to discuss contributing.
