#04.2025 – Something For The Soul
This week the playlist is a truly soulful, self indulgent list. I had to start it with the latest release by Christina Alden and Alex Patterson, I had the pleasure of seeing them live last week at the Cambridge folk club, and they were truly outstanding. Check out a full gig review here . The list goes on to include Chris Fox and Ali George both of which have found a new place in my heart with their sophisticated guitar style and earthy poetry that seems to feel honest and frank in a way I find extremely refreshing. I have such a deep affection for the etherial beauty of Salt House, and I have only a few more weeks to wait before I see them live in Clay… Pinch me…
The etherial female vocals continue with the brilliant Hannah Read and Lara Taska. The breakthrough track Harder by Mel Hocking serves as a tantalising teaser of great things to come from this young newcomer. Excited to see what she does next….
